Do Not Be Deceived  (Bulletin Article November 8, 2015)

"Do not be deceived:  God cannot be mocked.  A man reaps what he sows.  Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; who ever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.  Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.  (Galatians 6:7-10)

Are you one who sows to the Spirit?  In this context, sowing to the Spirit is the same as doing good; especially doing good to other Christians.  We should ask ourselves:  are we those who do good to others or do we sow to the flesh by doing them harm--looking for reasons to criticize rather than encourage.

God is not mocked.  We cannot sow to the flesh and avoid its destructive consequences--eternal and otherwise.  Let's us commit ourselves, not simply to doing no harm (although that's a worthy goal), but to actually doing good to others each day.
